This week in reunions: Sublime!
* It's certainly not happening anytime soon, but Liam Gallagher is no longer saying "never" to an Oasis reunion. Beady Eye sales figures?
* The Lilith Fair gang, who reunited last year for a tour that did not sell many tickets, won't be doing it again this summer. Sarah McLachlan says Lilith Fair is "done."

This week in reunions... Eve 6! The Verve Pipe!
* Eve 6, who broke up in 2004 after the disappointing performance of their third album, have very quietly reunited, with two of the three original members (guitarist Jon Siebels is still missing). Their Myspace page shows a few college shows this spring and there are vague promises of a new album coming this year.
* One of the bands I considered for the "Who Should Reunite?" feature, the Verve Pipe, are actually (and unexpectedly) back together with a new children's album and an acoustic tour in February. Get more info here.
* Oleander are back together, and set to release an album this spring, their first since 2003. Fun fact: some acquaintaces of mine once got to open for Oleander in Lawton, Oklahoma. That's the most exciting thing I remember about Oleander.
* The reunited Sublime is going to have to call themselves something different.
* Days of the New are readying their first album since 2001. Given that Days of the New has been just Travis Meeks since he fired the rest of the band during recording sessions for Days of the New II, it's hard to call this a reunion, however.

This week in reunions... Soundgarden! Hole! Lilith Fair!
* As announced on Twitter by Chris Cornell, Soundgarden have returned after 12 years away, Audioslave, and that God-awful Cornell solo album with Timbaland. No word on what the reunion entails yet, but expect a tour of some kind. If you go here, you can enter your e-mail address and then watch an old music video.
* Despite the fact that she just lost custody of her daughter, Courtney Love is forging ahead with the Hole reunion-that-doesn't-include-any-original-members-except-maybe-the-drummer. Go here and you can hear about 10 seconds of instrumental music from the forthcoming Nobody's Daughter. Love has also taken to Twitter again, and three Hole dates in Europe have been announced for February.
* Despite some last-minute legal threats from Bradley Nowell's family, the Sublime reunion actually happened. Spinner says about 15,000 were in attendance for the big show featuring new vocalist Rome Ramirez, who was only 8 years old when Sublime's self-titled album came out. The show was officially advertised as a Sublime "celebration," so maybe that's how they'll get around the proposed lawsuits. Or the surviving members of Sublime could take the Nowell family's advice and just reunite the Long Beach Dub All-Stars.
* OMG, ladies... Lilith Fair IS BACK! Here's the lineup so far.

This week in reunions... Sublime?!?
* The big (and inexplicable) news of the week is that Sublime are getting back together, minus (of course) deceased singer / guitarist / songwriter Brad Nowell. Now, on one hand, I can see why the two surviving members of Sublime would want to do this. They never got to tour behind their phenomenally-popular self-titled album (three hit singles, five-times-platinum), because Nowell died of an overdose shortly before it came out. So they left money on the table that tribute bands like Badfish and Wrong Way are now taking (seriously; Badfish - A Tribute to Sublime comes through Atlanta fairly regularly and plays pretty big venues. There's a market for this stuff). But at the same time, how can they possibly need the money? This is a band who have released three greatest-hits albums this decade, all of which have charted in the Billboard Top 200, and two of which have gone gold. Their spin-off project, the Long Beach Dub All-Stars, released two decent-selling albums and did the theme song to Joey. This is worse than Alice in Chains getting back together, because Jerry Cantrell's harmonies and guitar work were at least half of the appeal of that band. This is more like watching the Jimi Hendrix Experience without Jimi.
* No Doubt don't want you to consider this upcoming tour a reunion. Because they never broke up, you see. Although since 2002, Gwen Stefani has made two platinum solo albums while the other three guys backed up Scott Weiland, and No Doubt didn't tour or record. But it wasn't a break-up. Cause it was never official. This is like if your wife moves out and you see other people, but after she moves back in, you don't want to call it a reconciliation, because you never got divorced. Meanwhile, you can get the band's entire catalog in digital format if you buy a "premium ticket" to the upcoming tour.
* Meanwhile, Mr. Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, is embarking on a solo tour beginning in late March, and apparently has been making noises about a Bush reunion at the end of 2009. This is a little surprising, given that Rossdale's solo career is just now gaining traction (after his debut album looked like a flop, "Love Remains the Same" caught on as a single around Christmas).
* And the Jayhawks are reuniting to do some shows, though not under the name "The Jayhawks."
